Short Bio

Anonymous Morris are a mixed sex Border Morris side based in Poole, with an aim to promote morris dancing particularly - but not exclusively - among young people. Everybody is welcome to come and join us and will receive full instruction on learning to dance our dances, and the first session is always free.

We dance at a variety of local folk festivals during the summer, as well as spending evenings at local pubs or on Poole Quay. We do dance displays, dance workshops and maypole workshop.

Our dances are a mix of traditional and modern and are based on the dances of the English-Welsh border counties of Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire from where the name Border Morris originates, We dance in a vigorous and dynamic style with rag jackets and sticks.
